Update: Weekly Meeting of May 27th

Hello GDP members,

Global Development Project Club will be meeting this Wednesday, May 27th, for a weekly discussion on Child Labor and usual club business. Please try to come earlier so that you won’t miss the Open Comment Period. Find the agenda of the week here. We will be also taking club photo after the meeting.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Board of Trustees meeting at 4pm. We only have five minutes to share what we did this year; it’s the time to “show off.” Please meet with the group at the front door of Admin. (1000) Building at 3:45pm.


Election of club officers for the summer quarter will be held at next meeting, June 3rd.

Mariana Rivera de Petersen, who is a Lactation Consultant in one of the largest public hospital in Guatemala, is coming to provide classes to our nursing students and she has agreed to give a public address on the subject of the well-baby initiative in Guatemala.

Careers in Microfinance: Big Challenges in Small Investments
YPIN and SeaMo are pleased to join forces to bring you an evening of insights into the growing field of microfinance. This event will feature panelists from several local organizations that are defining Seattle as a leader in local and international micro-lending. Representatives will all share their insights on how they entered the field of microfinance, challenges they encountered, successes they’ve enjoyed, and recommendations that they have for those interested in the field. There will also be time in the career panel for direct questions from the audience. We hope to see you there!
